He has 20 years’ experience of working in the education sector across a variety of different interfaces and countries.
He is currently the Head of the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES), a programme that engages close to 4,000 students across the country in real-life entrepreneurial education.
Previously Colin has worked in the global migration and exchange of ideas as the Director of Programmes and Engagement at Fulbright NZ; lectured in Development Studies at the Victoria University of Wellington, and been the Head of Student Recruitment at the same University.
He is from Ireland and, before arriving in New Zealand 15 years ago, he had worked in 12 different countries mostly teaching English as a second language – but also working in cafes, kitchens and selling t-shirts along the way.
Colin is committed to being as useful as possible in helping all students get (and use) the same opportunities to make positive choices that impact their own lives and the world around them. He is excited to be involved with Education Trust and its kaupapa.
